Is what Monoma said entirely out of line? Absolutely. And it would be IDEAL if he apologized.
But was it done out of malice? Nope.
It’s very likely that Monoma is using Shinsou’s ‘piss them off to get them to talk’ strategy. You know, the same strategy where Shinsou insulted the pride and capabilities of Midoriya’s friend, Ojiro. Should Monoma have brought up such a touchy subject? No. But this is a combat exercise. If y’all can excuse Shinsou being a dick to Ojiro (and then ship them lmao) or Bakugou…and everything that comes out of his fucking mouth, you can open your eyes to recognize when and when not something is done out of malice. Monoma does NOT want to lose.
Also, Monoma is canonically a character that we see has trouble with boundaries on multiple occasions (even going so far as being called ‘perverse’ by Kendou– or, someone who breaks boundaries) who does things he thinks is right that project themselves As Massive Dick Moves to everyone else
